CLAY GOOCH
Clay Gooch is the Senior Director of vCISO Consulting Services for Cyber Defense Labs. Clay leads the internal teams that provide advisory, penetration, and vulnerability services to our clients. He brings an incredible tenure of leadership experience in information technology and cybersecurity.
Prior to Cyber Defense Labs, Clay held security leadership roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Headstorm, SITO, and GameStop helping companies secure, strategize, and mature their security posture.
During his career, Clay has led internal cybersecurity programs
as a Chief information security Officer and implemented enterprise cybersecurity strategies aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. He has responded to numerous cybersecurity breaches and performed Operational Technology assessments, compliance assessments, and penetration testing activities. Prior to his work in cybersecurity, Clay focused on internal IT systems, which aids in his ability to see how something as simple as a configuration setting can lead to cybersecurity incidents.
At Cyber Defense Labs, Clay focuses on enterprise risk reduction by developing cybersecurity programs,
planning security strategies in alignment with business objectives and operational realities and overseeing the security of sensitive data.
Clay earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, MIS from Middle Tennessee State University.
